Here is all the information for a successful dance year for MDP families!

Here is the dress code for specific classes 2025/26!

Boogie Bugs N' Fairy Tails: 

Hair must be away from the face, pulled back.

• Dancers choice: Simple costume, ballet leotard/skirt/tutu or tshirt and leggings in any color. Most children have a set dance outfit they like to wear. 
• Required for performances: Pink or skin toned tights with Pink or skin toned leather ballet shoes, leotard any color /boys traditionally wear Black tights with Black leather ballet shoes/ white tshirt tucked.

BODHI 1: 

Hair must be away from the face, pulled back.

• Light Pink leotard (lycra not cotton keeps the color the best) Brands that work well are Bloch, Capezio and more. Please have ONE light pink leotard with thin straps. Any style and cut is fine. 
• Pink transition tights (feet open up but also cover), Black transition tights, Pink leather split soled ballet shoes, Black split soled slip on jazz shoes.

BODHI 2:

Hair must be away from the face, pulled back.

• Light Blue leotard (lycra not cotton keeps the color the best) Brands that work well are Bloch, Capezio and more. Please have ONE light pink leotard with thin straps. Any style and cut is fine. 
• Pink transition tights (feet open up but also cover), Black transition tights, Pink leather split soled ballet shoes, Black split soled slip on jazz shoes.

BODHI 3:

Hair must be away from the face, pulled back.

• Any color leotard or unitard for class.  Please have ONE black  leotard with thin straps. Any style and cut is fine. 
• Pink transition tights (feet open up but also cover), Black transition tights, Pink leather split soled ballet shoes, Black split soled slip on jazz shoes.

When finding an outfit for your child, this will be worn in the holiday showcase and Spring Showcase possibly. Boogie Bugs can wear any color leotard/skirt with pink tights and shoes and boys have black tights or pants. Girls will have a tutu over what they have so the tights and shoes below are important and a favorite leotard. 

No glitter, feathers, or zippers, buttons for injury and spillage during movement. 

Hair to be worn off of face in pony tail or bun for all classes. 

Minis and Company a french twist or high hair bun.

Convertible footed tights - Capezio 1916 child/adult in color "Ballet Pink" or another color that matches skin tone. These tights will be rolled up off of feet at the beginning of class for barefoot work, and then pulled over feet with ballet shoes. Buy any brand like this so long as they are footed and convertible. CREATIVE MOVEMENT, BALLET

Split Sole Leather Ballet shoe- Must try on at a store first for shoes that are fitted, do not buy to grow into. The brand of shoe will be determined by your child's foot-arch and width. Leather, pink, split sole are priorities with the fit. Shoes generally match a child's skin tone and the tights. Fitted shoes stretch with wear and sweat and mold to foot and comfort. Should fit like a glove. Do not wear before checking with instructor on first day in case you need to exchange the shoes. ALL CREATIVE MOVEMENT, BALLET, CONTEMPORARY

Black split sole slip on jazz shoes- Should fit like a glove. These are designed to stretch and hopefully grow with growing feet. Any brand with priority of black, and slip on, and split sole.  MOVE AND GROOVE/BODHI COMPANY

• Lycra fabric has more color hold than cotton.
